Youth Teachers

Bro. James Arthur:
I’m bro. James, the Youth Director of Solid Rock Church Youth Department. My vision for our youth of today is to affect change in the lives of our children within our community, to see them grow to become a fully devoted follower of Christ, growing in their relationship with Jesus, serving with their gifts, connecting with God’s people, and sharing Jesus with others. The Apostle Peter put it this way, “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…” (2 Peter 3:18). One of my favorite scriptures is John 3:16.

Bro. Edwin Reynolds:
Edwin “Dyscyple” Reynolds is the teacher for the high school age group (14 to 18). He also helps spearhead the Discipleship Class, and the Mentor Program. Edwin enjoys reaching youth through the means of Holy Hip - Hop. Edwin is married with two children; Jordyn and Eddie. Hobbies include writing songs/poems, playing/watching sports, and playing video games. Favorite scripture is Isaiah 40:31.

Min. Tanya Cephas:
Tanya is the teacher for the middle school age group (11 to 13). She also heads the Creative Arts and Drama ministry. Tanya enjoys empowering the youth to reach their potential, taking off the limits that society has placed on them and pick up the word of the Lord and find out what God says they are and can become. Tanya has two children Isaiah T- 15 and Khaylel C. -10. Favorite scripture is Isaiah 43:1-7 16-21

Sis. Dara Webb:
Hi, I'm Dara and I teach ages 9-11. I love working with the youth and teaching the word of God because it is a constant challenge! The scriptures that best describe my commitment to Christ and his will for my life are: Luke 9:23, Hebrews 12:11-13.

Min. Demitta Clausell-Reese:
Demitta teaches the 6-8 year olds, grades first through third. She is married with 5 children, six grandchildren and one on the way in May! Demitta was ordained as a minister at Solid Rock Family Life Center in April, 2008. In her leisure, she enjoys watching a good movie, roller skating and supporting her kids in their activities. One of her favorite scriptures is 1 Cor. 13:13.

Sis. Michelle Johnson:
My name is Michelle Johnson and I enjoy watching little children learn and grow as they explore new opportunities. I will be assisting, teaching, and sharing Christ with children who are between the ages of 2-4. One of my favorite scriptures is Philippians 4:13.–

Sis. Heather Bayne:
My name is Heather Bayne and will also be assisting, teaching and sharing Christ with children between the ages of 2-4. I love to dance and teach children how to worship God through Liturgical Dance.

Evan. Shondale Hurst:
Shondale "Cookie"Hurst leads the youth praise and worship every Sunday. She also helps spearhead the Discipleship Class, and the Mentor Program. She is married with four children, Elijah, Nathaniel, Quin II, and Jonathan. Cookie was ordained as an Evangelist to minister to the body of Christ in April 2007. She enjoys watching children and youth grow in the knowledge of God. Her favorite bible character is David because he was a man after God's own heart and one of her favorite bible verses is Proverbs 3:5

Pastor Deandra Harrod:
Pastor Dede serves as an overseer with the department of Youth in Solid Rock. She is in charge of the curriculum that the Solid Rock Youth Department utilizes. She enjoys watching the children take the Word of God and apply it to their life.
